Take courage!
Get. It. Done!
This shirt motivates me y’all. Probably more than any of my other workout shirts.

Often in my mind, I take it out of context and let it get me moving toward the gym, or to fulfill a responsibility I have. Or (a more accurate to the text thought) I let this verse–and shirt–motivate me to push past my comfort zone. To rise above my fears ready and willing to tackle activities that will bring me closer to the person I am striving to be.

In the full context, however, this verse is a demonstration of the fruits of repentance. It is a battle call for God’s people (specifically Ezra), to take action and right wrongs. In Ezra 10, the people realized they were in sin and were convicted in their hearts.

So what should I do when I am confronted & convicted by sin in my life? Should I whine and wallow in my guilt? No. Get up, get busy, and realize you are not alone.

You may have to be the one to get things moving. You may have to be the one to realize the error and teach others what you’ve learned through God’s Word. You may be the FIRST in your circle to see clearly the Way of the Lord, but when you do SPEAK UP. Get the ball rolling!  Those who love God with their whole heart, soul, & mind, and seek Him first above all else will be right behind you.

It isn’t easy, but if we keep praying for boldness, wisdom, & compassion, and stay rooted in the Word, in those moments we will be the mouthpiece of God that others are aching to hear.

“Arise. For this matter is your responsibility. We also are with you. Be of good courage, and do it.” Ezra 10:4
